This author misrepresents how Mary is depicted in the bible. If he knew his Old Testament and the Jewish underpinnings that support all that Catholics believe about Mary, he would know that Catholics do NOT worship Mary. The Catholic Church is ADAMANT that Mary is a creature of God and should only be given the veneration due to the mother of our Lord, Jesus. I was a lifelong Protestant who converted to Catholicism after many years of study. There is plenty of scripture and Tradition to support loving Mary for who she is--the mother of JESUS...she is the God-bearer. Whatever you believe is Jesus is related to what you believe about Mary. If your Jesus is NOT fully God and fully Man, then calling Mary the God-bearer would be ridiculous.

Mike Mazzalongo depicts Mary with the truths he has learned from the Bible. His concept is vivid and tempting to me. However, I am Catholic, and the author would find flaw in what I believe about Catholic priests. I sustain that they are representing Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, which Mr. Mazzalongo does not delve into. He has portrayed Mary with humility and respect, which I believe he learned from his Catholic upbringing. His book is informative and persuasive.
