DAY ONE: THE NAME OF THE WIND

My name is Kvothe.

I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep.

You may have heard of me.

So begins a tale unequaled in fantasy literature—the story of a hero told in his own voice. It is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man’s search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

I've never fallen in love with a book as quickly as I fell in love with this one. The writing is beautiful. You can choose to look deeper into the story of just enjoy it as it is. Either way, the story is a treat. It's one thing to write a story about a character telling their past and a completely different thing to make it feel as if you are present in the tavern listening. The author has an incredible grasp of storytelling as a whole. I highly recommend reading this book and I hope you enjoy

One of the most well written books I've ever read. However the slow pacing and dense prose structure will likely turn off most casual readers. thoughtful, provocative, enthralling, but not for everyone. don't listen to the haters plebians changing their reviews because they feel it has taken the third book too long to come out. however long the wait will be it will be worth it.

Book 1 came out 16 years ago. Book 2 came out 12 years ago. Book 3? Nah how about some bad novella every few years when he needs money again. ZERO respect for his fans. Skip this book unless he ever finishes the series. I wish I had a job where I didn't have to show up to work for a decade.
