PRAGUE, 1870.

Ratings and reviews

I really like CS Johnson's writing. She is an engaging, great storyteller. Her writing is rich and not ponderous. Her descriptions are right on target, giving the reader enough information, but not overloading and boring them. Her storylines are exciting and in this case, historically accurate even as she imagines the lives of people who did not actually exist. Her personality developments keep a reader interested in what happens to the characters.

First, their mother died, then their father. Eleanora and Ben are left with their stepmother who treats them like servants. Then the grandmother they never knew they had turns up and things begin to be interesting for the siblings. This set follows the lives of Ella and Ben as they train to be members of the Order and then go on missions. There is plenty of action and romance, ending in a HEA. Highly recommended. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I've read several books written by C.S. Johnson; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books. This is the complete series of the Order of the Crystal Daggers; it is a five book collection of stories. Each story is well written.
