This book seventeen in the Jessie Hunt thriller is interesting once the cult angle comes into play. This is different from others in the series in that the cult has infiltrated so many areas, from Hollywood to the police force. In addition, Jessie is paired with Detective Karen Bray. Meanwhile, normal partner Ryan is paired with a new detective named Susannah Valentine on a homicide in a YMCA shower. The woman is hacked to death. This series is in no danger of ending any time soon.

I am a Jessie Hunt fan, and cannot wait for a new book to come out in the series. The characters are well rounded with busy professional and personal lives all woven into the story line. This book does not disappoint instead of dealing with just a serial killer Jessie is dealing with the cult world. Lost of twist and turns and suspects to keep Jessie busy, and the reader up late into the night, because it is a page turner that you just can’t put down. I recommend this series, you will fail in love with Jessie, Ryan, Hannah, and don’t forget Jamil.

Book 17 of the Jessie Hunt series was worth the wait! Blake Pierce never disappoints with the storylines. “The Perfect Veil” weaves in several incredible tales into this one thriller! Jessie & Ryan are temporarily working with different partners to solve two different crimes that are full of intrigue. The savvy cyber-genius Jamil has become a character that I love watching grow into his career! I can’t get enough of his amazing research skills! There is so much to figure out with Andy Robinson and exactly how close she can get to Jessie from the correctional facility. Let’s not forget Hannah. There’s just enough of a mix to keep you guessing if she’s going to try to walk the straight and narrow or if she’s going to embrace her craving for the dark side. This was an awesome read!
