In the quaint, fog-shrouded town of Harbor's Edge, tales of Purgatory Point and its phantom have lingered for generations, whispered in the dim glow of lanterns and etched into the very stones of the harbor. It was a bleak autumn evening when Ruby and her brother, James, arrived at Harbor's Edge. The siblings had inherited an old lighthouse at Purgatory Point, a place cloaked in chilling rumors.

"Can you believe this is ours now?" Ruby asked, her voice tinged with both excitement and unease.

James, ever the skeptic, chuckled. "It's just an old lighthouse, Ruby. Ghost stories are just stories."

But as they approached the lighthouse, a cold wind moaned through the rocks, as if disagreeing. That night, over the creaking of the old structure, Ruby heard a faint, sorrowful melody. She followed the sound to the top of the lighthouse.

Suddenly, a translucent figure materialized an old sea captain, his eyes deep pools of regret. "Beware the tides," he whispered. "They brought me to my doom."

Ruby gasped, "Who are you?"

"I am Captain Elijah, bound to these shores by my sins," he replied, his voice a hollow echo.
