About this eBook

The thrilling conclusion to the “vivid space opera” trilogy from the New York Times–bestselling author of the Court of Fives series (SF Mistressworks).

Lily Ransome forsook her conventional fate on the planet of Unruli for swashbuckling adventure among the stars. She has been embroiled in a cosmic rebellion and—with a lively band of outcasts and pirates—gone to war against a vicious empire. But in the wake of that battle, Lily and her crew are abandoned by the very force they fought to support. With nowhere else to go, they head toward the farthest reaches of space to find the worlds where humankind first began. But what awaits them when they get there? In this breathtaking finale, the value of liberty has no limit.
The Price of Ransom is the final book of the Highroad trilogy, which begins with A Passage of Stars and Revolution’s Shore

I kept waiting for this story to grow up. It had wonderful places in it. I absolutely love this author. If this was her first offering I'm not sure I would read another. I wonder... is the Book company confining her to 3 books? IF so, let her write the way she wants too! I LOVED the CROWN OF STARS series & realize the intricate tale(s)I love in those books needed the 5 books to develop. We didn't get any of the in depth perspective on other characters from this series.Of course In 3 books it wouldn't fit.

About the author

DIVKate Elliott has been writing stories since she was nine years old, which has led her to believe that she is either a little crazy or that writing, like breathing, keeps her alive. Her most recent series is the Spiritwalker Trilogy (Cold Magic, Cold Fire, and Cold Steel), an Afro-Celtic post-Roman alternate-nineteenth-century Regency ice-punk mashup with airships, Phoenician spies, the intelligent descendants of troodons, and revolution. Her previous works include the Crossroads trilogy (starting with Spirit Gate), the Crown of Stars septology (starting with King’s Dragon), the Novels of the Jaran, the Highroad Trilogy, and the novel The Labyrinth Gate, originally published under the name Alis A. Rasmussen./div
She likes to play sports more than she likes to watch them; right now, her sport of choice is outrigger canoe paddling. Her spouse has a much more interesting job than she does, with the added benefit that they had to move to Hawaii for his work; thus the outrigger canoes. They also have a schnauzer (a.k.a. the Schnazghul).
