À propos de l'auteur

Rabindranath Tagore (1861—1941) was a writer, poet, playwright and painter who is world renowned for his work. He was the first non-European to have won the Nobel Peace Prize for literature, for his collection of poetry titled Gitanjali (1910). His contribution to Bengali literature is awe-inspiring with novels such as Gora (1910), Ghare-Baire (1916) and Jogajog (1929). He is also known for his plays, some of which are Raja (1910), Dak Ghar (1912), and Rakta Karabi (1926). Besides these, he also wrote essays and diaries. He also created a number of drawing, paintings and songs, one of which is the Indian National Anthem Jana Gana Mana.

Astri Ghosh is a translator, journalist, teacher and performance artist based in Panjim, Goa. She translates from Hindi, Bengali and Urdu to Norwegian, and from Norwegian to Hindi and English. Some of the authors she has translated are Qurratulain Hyder, Lars Saabye Christensen and Per Petterson. In Sanger fra Adigranth she translated a collection of hymns from Sikh scriptures. She is currently translating 12 contemporary plays of Henrik Ibsen into Hindi. She also coordinates jazz festivals, curates art exhibitions and poetry performances.
