i am closer to the heavens now and with thuis i realize that a spiritual epiphany is unevitable. i am grateful for the truth that i cast my reflection upon. and the only voice that can add to my resolve. is the one within myself. i am no longer at the mercy of any expectation. having now read what i would never have known, leaves me to pause in awe, reflect and reason upon.. ...is just that and nothing more

Still as brilliant today...what a shame poetry has gone out of fashion works such as this will forever stay in the readers imagination. "Nevermore" will such a poet have such a short tragic life...yet live on 165 years after his death in the imagination of all literary folk. Edgar Allen Poe...genius for Evermore!

Interesting read. I knew of "the raven", but not much of Poe, as a person. I believe he was a genius and many of his actions would prove that. He was self centered, knew what he wanted, but not how to get. Thus the easy way out - alcohol, women, education, confrontations,etc.. Gifted, I am sure, but too unruly to be taken seriously, during his time.
