The Ring of Winter is the fifth book in a series of loosely-connected novels about the Harpers.

He has written several best-selling dark fantasy books, including the Forgotten Realms adventure Prince of Lies and the Ravenloft novel Knight of the Black Rose. He is the winner of multiple Origins Awards, and his short fiction has appeared in such anthologies as Shadows Over Baker Street and Genius Loci.
