If you've ever wanted to build your own power boat, you'll want to start here. Yes, it's very old, but fluid dynamics at this level haven't changed any. This book gives a practical and concise explanation of the "screw propeller" dynamics and the base calculations needed to design a propulsion system based on its use. How big of a propeller do you need to push a 3 ton boat at 25 knots? A great starting point for basic marine propulsion design.
