Safira has never gotten along with her sister, Mya, and now that Mya's pending marriage dominates the family there seems to be no hope for friendship between them. About the author

Once, long ago, K.L. Denman saw a ghost that was very much like the apparition who appears in this story. Although K.L. never learned the identity of her visitor or the meaning of that strange incident, writing The Shade provided her with an enjoyable dip back into the inexplicable. While she hopes never to meet a ghost again, she’s delighted that they and many other mysteries exist. She lives and writes in Powell River, British Columbia.
