Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–1894) was a Scottish writer of novels, essays, poetry, and short stories. He’s best known for his children’s adventure novel ‘Treasure Island’ (1883), his collection of poetry ‘A Child’s Garden of Verses’ (1885), and his Gothic novella ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ (1886).
