Apie šią el. knygą

A new translation into modern American English directly from the original Russian manuscript. This edition contains an Afterword by the translator, a timeline of Tolstoy's life and works, and a glossary of philosophic terminology used throughout Tolstoy's literature and philosophy. The Study of Dogmatic Theology (Исследование догматического богословия) - Published in 1884, The Study of Dogmatic Theology represents Leo Tolstoy's exploration of religious doctrines and theological principles that have long shaped Christian belief systems. In this work, Tolstoy critically examines the dogmas of the Orthodox Church and other Christian traditions, questioning their legitimacy and relevance in contemporary society. By offering an alternative perspective on spirituality centred on love, compassion and the teachings of Christ, Tolstoy contributes to the ongoing discourse on the nature of true faith. The book's significance lies in its ability to provoke thought and debate about the nature of religious institutions and their role in individual and community life. A pivotal moment in Tolstoy's own spiritual transformation, this work marks a turning point in the author's philosophical journey and continues to inspire readers to question established religious structures and seek a more authentic, compassionate spirituality.
