They kill EVERYTHING, they know everything, alll good luck and happiness. The phrase I KNEW is used every sentence, and every other sentence describes another exotic animal bring slaughtered, wounded, or captured for their farm. The wife is a completely unbelievable character. Overall.... Terrible. I almost WANTED a tragedy to happen by the end.

No way they would've stayed on the island... the Condor measured 16' from beak to tail? The Eagle knocked the Ostrich down... in 10 years they never ran out of ammo!? C'mon man!

Terrific novel. Amazing to think of all the amazing convention, ingenuity and creativity used to turn a unihabitted island into a colony by building unfrastructure as well as textiles and actual buildings from just 1 family. The truely amazing part of this is that if you take away technology, this could happen in modern day, much similar to tom hank's cast awat. Suggest this book to anyone who loves advebture or man vs nature books!
