About this eBook

To protect his ward Ciri, Geralt of Rivia sends her to train with the sorceress Yennefer. But all is not well within the Wizard's Guild in the second novel of the Witcher, Andrzej Sapkowski's groundbreaking epic fantasy series that inspired the hit Netflix show and the blockbuster video games.

Geralt is a Witcher: guardian of the innocent; protector of those in need; a defender in dark times against some of the most frightening creatures of myth and legend.

His task now is to protect Ciri. A child of prophecy, she will have the power to change the world for good or for ill—but only if she lives to use it.

Short, simple read with tons of Game of Thronesish themes with its own unique story. It's Slavic lore puts it in an almost Brothers Grimm setting, as opposed to traditional Western European Tolkien. Highly recommend all of the Witcher books.

Book is great, but the styling has quirks; randomly starting a new page, using single quotes instead of double quotes for dialogue, the translator used very uncommon words (thank you Google for showing definitions).

An excellent continuation of the first book. There was a lot of story progression and some emphatic battles that were made more intriguing due to the excellent characters. The strongest entry of the final three books.
