This book forgot it's original story for me. The lack of the two main characters through out most of the book, made for a distinct lack of interest in the plot of the book. The author's decision to only let less than 50000 of earth population travel to stars is unbelievable . The final solution to the world's overpopulation is not enough to prevent the eventual demise of human society on earth.final observation is that a AI as sophisticated as it is could blame all of humanity for one man acts of violence.

Mediocre at best and completely silly in places. Having sudden emphasis placed on minor characters is jarring to the story. The Thunderhead ends up seemingly like a petulant and unimaginative child, incapable solving problems with simple solutions and punishing all of humanity for one man's stupidity.

I don't even want to finish it. This is a very disappointing way for me to leave a series. I really enjoyed the first two books. I thought the concept was original and interesting. I couldn't even force myself to get to the end of this one.
