About this eBook

As darkness falls after sunset, the corelings rise—demons who possess supernatural powers and burn with a consuming hatred of humanity.

For hundreds of years the demons have terrorized the night, slowly culling the human herd that shelters behind magical wards—symbols of power whose origins are lost in myth and whose protection is terrifyingly fragile. It was not always this way. Once, men and women battled the corelings on equal terms, but those days are gone. Night by night the demons grow stronger, while human numbers dwindle under their relentless assault. Now, with hope for the future fading, three young survivors of vicious demon attacks will dare the impossible, stepping beyond the crumbling safety of the wards to risk everything in a desperate quest to regain the secrets of the past. Together, they will stand against the night.

This book is one of the most inventive I've read in a long while. Interesting, compelling well-fleshed out characters, fascinating story, and - for the most part - good writing. It does move at an odd pace at times; sometimes skipping entire sections of a character's arc for seemingly no good reason. But even given that, it's a wonderful read. Highly recommended.

The first book in the series is not without its issues however the book does create an interesting world. However by the time you get to the second book you very quickly realize that the author is clearly a racist and a bigot. The thinly veiled tones of the first book are fully realized by the second entry. The author crudely preaches hate against the Muslim faith. I call it the evil magical Muslims. If that sounds terrible to you, it's even worse to read. Save your time and skip the series.

Horrible story! So depressing that I gave up trying to get through it after the second book. The bad guys win, most of the time! It never gets better! The author is a depraved sadist, and its obvious that he would rather spend time torturing and raping his characters than tell a story at all. It sickens me. I want my money back!
