About this eBook

When half-bloods Harruq and Qurrah Tun pledged their lives to the death prophet Velixar, they sought only escape from their squalid beginnings. Instead, they become his greatest disciples, charged with leading his army of undead.
While they prepare, Harruq trains with an elf named Aurelia, to whom he owes his life. She is a window into a better world, but as war spreads between the races their friendship takes a dire turn.

Velixar orders them to fight alongside the humans, changing Aurelia from friend to foe. To protect her, Harruq must turn against his brother and fight the killing nature of his orcish heritage.

THE WEIGHT OF BLOOD by David Dalglish
To side with one means to turn on another. No matter Harruq’s decision, someone he loves will die.

I've read a lot of fantasy. This does fall into the anti-hero/dark column. Nothing wrong with that. Problem is the characters are uninteresting. The writing is not engaging... actually I just found the writing bad in general. I finished the book just to make sure it didn't get any better toward the end. It didn't. It has been a couple months so I can't bring up some of the examples of what specifically was bad about the writing. However the memory of how little I liked it remains.

Absolutely hands down the most disgusting book I have ever read. The author is either demonic or mentally disturbed. I do not recommend this book to anybody. Especially not to young people. Absolutely nothing enjoyable in this book. Unless you like reading about slaughtering babies. Or killing mothers with their children while giving their child a last kiss. I think Charles Manson will appreciate his drivel. I certainly do not. Utter rubbish.

Absolutely loved it! I've read through all of the interactive books (the game) on the play store and they were just as excellently written and enthralling as this book. The characters are foreign and strange, not meant to exist in our reality, yet so familiar and similar in heart and mind. I was instantly struck with a sense of endearment and a sort of odd love for the two brothers, though I cannot explain it. And dont get me started on Aurelia, her relationship with Harruq just felt so real given the absurdity of it. The scene in the alleyway after her and Harruq battle and the events that followed, brought a tear to my eye and brought forth emotions in me that I was surprised by. This book will make your heart race, it will make you scream in anguish and fury, it will make you cry. Simply put, read this book. It is worth your time and admiration. Thank you David Dalglish for this fascinating portrayal of a fantasy based version of Cain and Able, infused with love, war, and magic.
