About this ebook

Each mural represents the Civil War period from a Warrenton VA perspective. Local scenes and people occupy the murals. Commissioned by businessman Willard “Will” Green, artist Stewart B. White painted the murals on three outdoor sides of building in 2001. They collaborated to create a significant history lesson by stimulating wonderment.

The intention was to depict Warrenton and surroundings during the Civil War. There was to be no inkling of racism, it was to recognize all involved. The paintings were to tell a story in the hope viewers would develop questions and do their own research to enhance understanding of the times.
