Denver, Earth. The twenty-fifth century. After a devastating alien invasion, the Terran Democratic Empire is occupied by the Ryqril race. The once-heroic resistance warriors known as the blackcollars now serve as strong-arm security for Denver’s criminal elements.

When Allen Caine completes his year-long blackcollar training on the planet Plinry, he and his elite team head to Earth to strike out against the Ryqril puppet government. But there’s no way of knowing whether the remaining blackcollars in Denver will be with him, or against him. . . .

This is the second book that Timothy Zahn wrote in what was intended to be a trilogy from the start. You wrote the first two books under one publishers and then changed publishers. Unfortunately the old publishers would not allow him to finish the series with one book to go. That was in the early 1980s. 20 years later Timothy Zahn went back to his original publisher and completed the third and final book in the series. I loved the first two books and was thrilled when the third finally appeared. Zahn's style of writing is cinematic. Amazingly clear pictures of the surroundings and fully develops all his characters. The books are suspenseful and action packed in this series they shouldn't be overlooked.
