This book was great from beginning to end. Imagine you are a single woman and overnight you have 5 children you are responsible for! A giant task, but one you lovingly take on. They are your sister's children and you don't even stop to reconsider. Daisy Anderson not only has this challenge but she moves all of these precious children and her grandma to a new town to start a new job! Quite an undertaking! She wants a small town life for them. The house she buys for them is a definite fixer-upper and boy, does she get challenges in spades with this new life! I simply adored this book! It was so realistic to me! It chronicled the ups and downs of all the things Daisy went through, including the emotions. However, the townspeople were there to help her and Mitch, her new boss, and the chief of police, is constantly at her side supporting her even though he definitely has issues of control! I enjoyed Mitch's character too. He raised his siblings and has real issues with control but so many people around him are trying to show him he can let go. This story had some wonderful lessons in many areas. I will be thinking of these characters and those lessons for months to come.
