Let me start by saying this is my first Bat Shifter book. First off I love the concept, we normally see wolves, bears, foxes and Lycans but never bats. Felix is a bat shifter who is looking for his mate. His friend convinces him to go speed dating in hopes he would meet his mate. Luna is a human who knows that shifters exist and is hoping to find her mate by putting together a shifter speed date night. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a cute short read! Just the start to the series. Luna set up a speed dating event for women to find the fated mate. Felix jumped on the chance to find his fated mate. HEA that could be read as a standalone. Great short read. I like the odd or unusual shifter, Flying foxes are adorable for being a type of bat. This is almost a tale of two stories; the first half had character background, descriptions of the surroundings, good dialogue and exploration of feelings and was progressing at a nice, steady pace. I was very much enjoying it. Being a short story, it's almost as though the author realised she had to wrap up quickly; the second half had little description, not much dialogue and almost no character or relationship development. It's too bad, because I loved the concept and liked the author's writing style. I'll give her another chance, because the potential for a really good series is definitely there. Even this one isn't bad, just a bit disappointing given the strong start. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
