I have to agree with some of the others that the reviewed the book, that the book was rather choppy and piled on too much info all at once and only in a few chapters. It has its interesting points and like all books, has their pro's and con's, but I have to admit I only kept reading because the minor characters interested me more than the major, who quickly got on my nerves. Nevertheless, it didn't stop me from finishing it as I did hope the main character would grow with each book in the series as I've seen in the past. So I tucked in and finished it only feeling semi-satisfied. I do have to give this book it's props because it was the first book I read under the genre: Urban Fantasy, and I have yet to leave. In fact it quickly became my favorite and most read genre all thanks to this little book!

Started so strong but honestly this author CANNOT write an ending, I read this series up to book three and none of them ended well. She creates such an interesting world and has a lot of cool characters but the endings frustrate me to no end! I'm officially giving up on this series unless revisions miraculously happen, but if you can overlook endings you should try this series its got great world building and characters!

April '20. I have reached ch. 6. It is cumbersome; too much history of this paranormal world and the rules and such to their powers. Also annoying that every powerful vamp is someone from actual history: Rasputin, Jack the Ripper, Cleopatra, Nero, etc. I may try some more chapters. Maybe it will improve.
