The boys summer adventures provide moral and spiritual character builders for children ages 9-12. Young readers will learn lessons in hard work, honesty, and respect for everyone, even bullies. They will discover the hidden treasure of their families.
Author, Dorothy Skinner, lives in Iowa with her husband. Memories of childhood escapades of their four grown sons and seven grandchildren inspire her to write for kids. She has written children’s Christmas programs for her church, the script for the musical Jungle Bungle, several women’s dramas including Grandma Harvey’s Pies and Windows of the Heart, and many short stories for children. Dorothy graduated with a degree in Christian Education and has completed a course with the Institute of Children’s Literature. She annually judges writing for a statewide teen contest, Talents for Christ. One of her favorite Bible verses is, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” Her children include the kids she teaches on Sunday mornings and the ones she reaches through her writing. Treasure of the Moaning Ghost is her first children’s novel. Sewing, gardening, and traveling also top the list of Dorothy’s interests.
