Gary Robinson was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1950. He is a writer and filmmaker of Choctaw and Cherokee Indian descent. For the past 25 years, he has participated in the production of more than 100 educational, informational, training and documentary television projects, primarily on Native American topics. His first non-fiction book, From Warriors to Soldiers, was published in 2008. Most recently he helped launch the first series of short fictional books for teens called the Pathfinders series. Published by 7th Generation/Native Voices Books, this book series features American Indian main characters and plots. He currently lives in central California near Santa Barbara.
