The book that created an obsessive reader in a 14 year old, dyslexic, dysfunctional, outcast. In many ways this book (along with Watchers, Strangers, Shadow Fires, the Bad Place, ect) perpetuated my needed escape from a world often as lonely and turbulent as the characters I read about; and in turn I was able to find humor, justice love and happily ever afters when I needed them most. All of Koontz books are 5 star reads to me

I read this book for the first time when I was in my teens, around 13 yrs old. I was immediately a fan. I have read a bunch of Koontz's books. By far I love this one the most and now that I'm in my late 30's I re-visited this book and I realize why I fell in love with it. It was great.

One of his finest I first picked up this book many years ago, when it first came to paperback, made me an instant and forever fan. Only wish he'd made a sequel.
