The book that created an obsessive reader in a 14 year old, dyslexic, dysfunctional, outcast. In many ways this book (along with Watchers, Strangers, Shadow Fires, the Bad Place, ect) perpetuated my needed escape from a world often as lonely and turbulent as the characters I read about; and in turn I was able to find humor, justice love and happily ever afters when I needed them most. All of Koontz books are 5 star reads to me

I reread this book after the better part of 20 years. This is why Koontz as always been my favorite author. That and well Steven quite let me down with the tragedy that is From A Buick 8 but that is nether here nor there.

This is one if my favorite books. The author takes reality and pulls aside the curtain of pretense to allow a few to see the demons masquerading among us. It is a dangerous ability that must be hidden and a challenge to live with. Mr. Koontz is always truely original and human and this story is a great read.
