About this eBook

 “Understanding Reading Text In English” is an excellent resource book which is available for the university students and educators . This book leads the students to be autonomos students and have good reading habit.  It is proposed some simple theories about knowledge and strategies to understand the English text.  It consists of four chapters.Every chapters completed by some exercises to evaluate the students understanding. Chapter one is Building Vocabulary.  In this part, the students will learn how to use dictionary and learn how to guess the meaning of word stated in the text.  Chapter two is Comprehesion.  In this section,  the students will learn types of sentence construction,  topic,   main idea,    pattern  of  organization,   words 

references,  and figurative language in a short. Chapter three is Reading for Specific Information.  In this unit,  the students will learn how to differentiate information between fact and opinion, measure their reading rate, scanning and skimming.  And the last, chapter four is about Exercises. This chapter consists of so many deep and simple exercises can be done by the students independently to explore their reading skill. 

About the author

 Nuri Ati Ningsih was born in Madiun on 14 th  Februari 1975. She is the first of four childreen of Mukimin and Marijem. She graduated from SD Negeri Bagi 3 Madiun in 1987. Then, she continued her junior high school education in SMPN I Nglames and graduated in the year of 1990. She completed her senior high school education in SMAN Nglames Madiun 1993. 

In 1993, she continued her study at English Education at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Then, her career as a lecture 

was started in 1999 at the English Education Department of FPBS, IKIP PGRI Madiun. In 2005, she continued her masters' degree at Educational Technology  in  Universitas Adibuana  and graduated in the year of 2007. Then, she got  BPPS schoolarship in 2010 to continue her master at English Education in Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. She also got national research, e.g: Dosen Pemula, Hibah Bersaing, and Ipteks Bagi Masyarakat funded by DIKTI since 2008 up to 2016. 

She expands her experience and knowledge during her career at writing a book, such as; Evaluation on Language, Language Testing I, Language Testing 2, and Boundless English. She also presented her academic articles in some national and international conference, for example ; COTEFL 2015,  LSCAC 2016, ISE 2016,  and SOSHEC 2018
