Who we are: This publication is provided free of charge by the United Church of God, an International Association, which has ministers and congregations throughout much of the world.

We trace our origins to the Church that Jesus founded in the early first century. We follow the same teachings, doctrines and practices established then. Our commission is to proclaim the gospel of the coming Kingdom of God to all the world as a witness and to teach all nations to observe what Christ commanded (Matthew 24:14; 28:19-20).

Free of charge: Jesus Christ said, “Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). The United Church of God offers this and other publications free of charge as an educational service in the public interest. We invite you to request your free subscription to The Good News magazine and to enroll in our 12-lesson Bible Study Course, also free of charge.

We are grateful for the generous tithes and offerings of the members of the Church and other supporters who voluntarily contribute to support this work. We do not solicit the general public for funds. However, contributions to help us share this message of hope with others are welcomed. All funds are audited annually by an independent accounting firm.

Personal counsel available: Jesus commanded His followers to feed His sheep (John 21:15-17). To help fulfill this command, the United Church of God has congregations around the world. In these congregations believers assemble to be instructed from the Scriptures and to fellowship.

The United Church of God is committed to understanding and practicing New Testament Christianity. We desire to share God’s way of life with those who earnestly seek to follow our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our ministers are available to counsel, answer questions and explain the Bible. If you would like to contact a minister or visit one of our congregations, please feel free to contact our office nearest you at info@ucg.org .

For additional information: Visit our Web site www.ucg.org to download or request any of our publications, including issues of The Good News, dozens of free Bible study aid booklets, Beyond Today programs and much more.

What is faith, and how do we receive it and grow in it?We live in a society that is virtually devoid of faith. Since most people don't read the Bible, they don't know much about God or believe He even exists. What about you - do you lack the faith to believe in God?

Having true faith will help you make sense out the troubling and confusing world you live in. It will give you the confidence you need to move forward with your life despite trials and setbacks.

How do you get faith?

Growing in faith requires believing in God and maintaining a close relationship with Him. You can have this relationship with God through daily prayer, Bible study and applying what God says in the Scriptures in your personal life.

Learn more about how to grow in Christian faith by reading this Bible study aid ebook, You Can Have Living Faith, and start building that close relationship with God today!

Chapters in this ebook:

-- Introduction: You Can Have Living Faith
-- What Is Faith?
-- The Meaning of Faith
-- The Book of James: An 'Epistle of Straw'?
-- Examples of Living Faith
-- When It Seems God Doesn't Hear or Answer
-- Enemies of Faith
-- Growing in Faith

Inside this Bible Study Aid ebook:

"Lack of faith—an active, living trust in and relationship with God—is a widespread problem affecting every nation and virtually every individual."

"If we want to better our lives, our model for living faith should be Jesus Christ."

"Many people don't have the faith described in the Bible because they do not believe or practice what Jesus said: "If you love Me, keep My commandments" (John 14:15)."

"The Bible tells us salvation is by God's grace and is not earned by good works "lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). But we are saved by grace through faith. The danger we face is that our faith will die if we neglect our salvation by not living a life of obedience to God (Hebrews 2:1-3)."

"The examples and testimonies of the men and women we read about in Hebrews 11 show us we can believe God."

"We should pray to God for faith, and we should pray often for it (Luke 18:1)."

"Living a life of prayer, Bible study and humble obedience to God clarifies and strengthens our faith."
Do you believe in many roads to salvation? When you think about establishing a relationship with God, what comes to mind?

Do you know what the Bible reveals on this subject? Notice what Jesus Christ Himself has to say: "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:44)

God starts this relationship process and you must choose to accept or reject His calling when offered. If you accept, you have a definite process to follow that He clearly reveals in the Bible. What is that process?

1) After God calls you, repentance is the starting point in your relationship with Him. Without repentance, you are cut off from God.

2) After you repent, your next step is water baptism, a primary principle of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 6:1-2).

3) The next step on your road to eternal life is to receive God's Holy Spirit, which comes through "laying on of hands," as described in Hebrews 6:2.

If God is calling you, will you respond?

Inside the Bible Study aid ebook, The Road to Eternal Life, we will examine the Scriptures and look at the steps you must take to respond to God's calling. Start your journey on the only road to eternal life and be part of the awesome future God has planned for you!

Chapters in this ebook:
-- Introduction: The Road to Eternal Life
-- Repentance: Your First Step
-- Jesus and His Apostles Affirm the Need to Obey God's Commandments

-- Water Baptism and Laying On of Hands
-- Should Children Be Baptized

-- Forgiveness of Sin
-- Staying the Course
-- We're Baptized Into a Spiritual Body

Inside this Bible Study Aid ebook:

"The Bible describes repentance as a profound realization of our sins and resulting sorrow that leads us to change our thoughts and actions (2 Corinthians 7:10)."

"To some, the change God wants in us can appear so overwhelming that repentance and conversion to God's way of thinking seem impossible. And that's the point. Without God's help, they are impossible!"

"Overcoming our habitual sins and selfish nature does not happen instantly. It is a lifelong process, often involving great effort."

"The symbolic meaning of baptism, then, is profound. It represents both forgiveness of sins and newness of life in Christ."

"No matter what our background or past mistakes, when we genuinely repent and are baptized, God promises complete forgiveness."

"Living God's way must always remain our priority. We must continually "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" (Matthew 6:33)."
