I was gifted this ARC in return for an honest review. It's a fun, fast read. We get to revisit lovable characters from the tight-knit Le Beau family as Marcus finds his perfect mate. Too bad she's an assassin sent to take him out! Cassidy is assigned by JARVS Corp to take down Marcus Le Beau. Too bad JARVS has an assassin with a conscience and who does her own research on her hits. We get an action packed romp, through NOLA, as our H/h romance develops. They both have secrets, personal and professional. Can they get to the bottom of them, without Cassidy "finishing off" her assignment? If she doesn't, what will happen to her brother, who's being held as collateral? As always, V.A. Dold brings us characters we can't help but cheer for. I wish I could become part of the Le Beau family too. We get a bit more information fed to us regarding the origins of shifters, and others. I can't wait to see where this journey takes us next. Well written, with multiple threads to pull from, the storyline slowly keeps building. I kinda want to shake the author and demand she tell me where this is heading. I'm very impatient. Ah, well! I guess I'm just going to have to keep reading. What a shame!

Looooved the story. A kick-ass heroine, a drop-dead gorgeous and sensitive hero, Jam-packed action, extreme danger, and the sex and love were written extremely sensual and beautiful. Awesome addition to a magnificent series The author knocked it out of the ballpark with "Marcus".
