About the author

Christine Perkell (Ph.D. Harvard) is Professor of Classics at Emory University. She is the editor of "Reading Vergil's Aeneid: An Interpretive Guide" and author of "The Poet's Truth: A Study of the Poet in Vergil's Georgics" as well as of articles on various aspects of Vergil's poetics and of lamentation in epic poetry.
