Paramedic Ashley Grant is entertaining her parents as they vacation with her. Mom is having the greatest time ... sitting on the beach reading. Dad has just retired as a plumber and sitting around is not his idea of a good time. Dad meets one of the neighbors and they immediately hit it off. They plan to meet up the following day .... but Paul never shows. Knowing that Paul recently lost his wife to cancer, Dad becomes concerned when Paul can't be reached. A day or so later, Ashley and her colleague are called to the scene of what they're calling an accident. A man's body is found in the water, after falling a number of feet. Ashley identifies him as Paul, the missing neighbor. Dad is determined to find out what happened to his friend, and along with his daughter, he soon stumbles on the dark secrets of this Caribbean paradise. This was a very easy fast read with engaging characters. This will be appealing to anyone who likes cozy mysteries with a touch of romance. The plot is a bit suspenseful and the setting is wonderful. Many thanks to the author / Orca Book Publishers / Netgalley / for the digital copy of this engaging cozy. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
