About this ebook

Losing my job right before Christmas was bad enough, but when my car broke down on a snowy road to Bath, it felt like the universe was out to get me.

Just as I was about to give up hope,

In swoops Harris—the rugged Scotsman I’ve been secretly dreaming about since our last encounter.

He insists on driving me to Bath for the holidays, and I can’t help but wonder if fate has something bigger in mind.

Stuck together in his sleek car, with nothing but snow and silence around us,

I’m starting to think this unexpected detour might just be the spark I need.

A Scot for Christmas is the story of Sophia, a girlfan of Jane Austen, and Harris, a Scottish Duke. Both have mutual friends and have met on several occasions. Years earlier, Sophia moved to London from America to escape a horrible family life and to immerse herself in all things Jane Austen. As Harris pursues her, Sophia can't believe that this man is truly interested in her. I enjoy Victoria Pinder's writing; it is crisp, concise and delivers the HEA ending for her characters. Yet for me, I was disappointed with this story. Sophia was indecisive at every turn. I'm sure Harris would have had a case of whiplash trying to follow her on again/off again attitude. I loved the other stories in this series featuring Stephanie and Charlie and Charlotte and Logan. I loved Harris and all his romantic gestures, but Sophia? Not so much. While I wanted Harris to find his forever love, I really felt that he could have made a better choice for a wife. 3 stars.

Sofia and her friends share a love of Jane Austin. Harris Kellison is the hero that Sofia needs, she just needs to let herself believe in the fairytale that could be her life. Lots of great characters and a HEA.
