About the author

Music lover Vinod Kumar, started learning the harmonium and dholak since childhood.  He continued learning music along with academic education. He holds an M.Com and Grad. C.W.A.  He now works with the Railways.

He has passion for music and passed the Prabhakar course in the synthesizer and tabla from the Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad after which he continued learning music and raagas.

He started teaching music to students and felt the need for Sargam or Swarlipi of songs to play on the harmonium or any other instrument.  He started writing notes for songs and made them available for free on his blog vinodnotations.blogspot.in. with over one lakh likes.

He has written four books on 51 Geeton ki Sargam on singer Mukesh, Lata, Kishore and Rafi in Hindi which are available online. The book is now available in English SRGM. The western notation version of the book is coming soon.  Anyone with some basic knowledge in music can play the songs on any instrument. The book is written based on beat. The Taal is mentioned in every song.  The book is very useful addition for music students and music lovers alike.
