I could not wait to continue Abby's search for love after the way the first book ended! We knew that there was a shelf-life for the relationship between Abby and Connor and so in book two, Abby is working on getting over the inevitable ending of her whirlwind relationship with the younger Sullivan brother. Brian Sullivan, who has been Abby's best friend for as long as anyone can remember, is finally moving on after becoming a widower at much too young an age, not to mention raising his young daughter on his own. He, Abby and his daughter spend time together all of the time and while Brian has never taken Abby for granted, he's starting to feel differently toward her. He's starting to realize that maybe all he needs and wants has been right in front of him all along. Not only has Abby given herself a "deadline" in which to mourn the end of her relationship with Connor, she's also starting to realize that Brian has more than platonic feelings for her. With him being her best friend, she is not willing to risk that friendship to see where the romantic feelings might lead even though she's very well aware of Brian's growing feelings for her. She also is wrestling with not being a stand in for Brian's deceased wife. Will Brian be able to convince Abby to give them a real chance? And, will Abby be able to put Connor out of her mind to be able to give Brian the chance he deserves? While this book isn't the most conventional since we are dealing with a set of brothers and the same woman, Violet Duke does a fantastic job of crafting a story that draws you in right away. Again it is funny, emotional and sexy. I can't wait to see how all of this plays out in book three!

This book is even better than the first! I can't even figure out which brother I like more. So suspenseful, I can't wait to read the third one!

Ugh Brian shows just what a selfish creep he really is. Be prepared for borderline sexual harassment, deceit and manipulation triggers.
