About this eBook

A killer is hiding in plain sight...

The last thing Homicide Detective Josiah Troyer wants is to return to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and his Amish roots. But a madman is killing young girls and Josiah's expertise with the tight-knit community is very much needed by the FBI. Unfortunately, going home means dealing with his past and the woman he left behind.

Hannah is desperately trying to rebuild her life after the death of her Amish husband, and now, the murder of her sister. Protecting her young son from the violence is her only goal––and then she runs into the last man she expected to see, her ex Josiah. He left her eight years ago to work with the Englishers and forgiving him hasn't been easy.

But the killer has Hannah in his crosshairs, and she and Josiah will have to work together if she's going to survive.

A great second chance romance with lots of suspense and plenty of heat! I was surprised by the twists and turns of the story and I was hooked from the 1st page. This book will pull you into the characters, who you’ll love, and the mind of a killer, who you’ll love to hate. It's not a vanilla read, but is so so good! (I was given the ARC by Netgalley for an honest review)

This book grabbed my attention from the very first page until the very end. I only put it down long enough to grab some sleep before going back to it. Just when I thought I had things figured out, I discovered that I was wrong and had to change course. This book was definitely a page turner and I loved every minute of it. It offered and interesting look not only into the mind and actions of a serial killer, but, also into the Amish community and some other traditions. I enjoyed getting to know Josiah, Hannah, Eli, Dexter, Sam and Ryker. I wonder if this will be the start of a series, but for now, I believe this is just a stand alone novel. This book was full of lots of drama, surprises, love, forgiveness and redemption. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve been a fan of Melynda Price’s novels from the start, and have found them all to be incredibly good. Her characters always have depth to them, which engages the reader from the start. I’ve finished each book anxiously awaiting her next one to come out. So I was super excited to read Vow of Silence as an ARC from Net Galley. This story is one of the very best I’ve read (noting that Price has yet to disappoint me with any of her stories.) This book is a well-written “who done it” that keeps you guessing right up to the end, wrapped up with an underlying love story that builds to a steamy romance that makes a reader’s heart soar. Homicide Detective Joe (Josiah) Troyer returns to his Amish community to find a serial killer, but that is not the only thing he’ll be facing. I loved the scene where he and his lost love Hannah Beiler see each other for the first time in eight years. Eight years that have hardened Josiah from the farm boy she knew to the sexy, big city detective he has become. But the attraction is still there, and very real. It builds throughout the story, intertwined with the hunt to stop a killer that comes to an end in a climax you don’t see coming. This book is an excellent read at every level.
