About this eBook

In her own singularly beautiful style, Newbery Medal winner Sharon Creech intricately weaves together two tales, one funny, one bittersweet, to create a heartwarming, compelling, and utterly moving story of love, loss, and the complexity of human emotion.

Thirteen-year-old Salamanca Tree Hiddle, proud of her country roots and the "Indian-ness in her blood," travels from Ohio to Idaho with her eccentric grandparents. Along the way, she tells them of the story of Phoebe Winterbottom, who received mysterious messages, who met a "potential lunatic," and whose mother disappeared.

As Sal entertains her grandparents with Phoebe's outrageous story, her own story begins to unfold—the story of a thirteen-year-old girl whose only wish is to be reunited with her missing mother.

I'm 22 now, but I read this in 6th grade when I was around 12. This book still lives in my mind rent free, the imagery it builds as you read is amazing. The story sticks with you forever. There's so much you can learn from this amazing book. It's definitely worth it. Read it with family, friends, or by yourself.

In 5th grade my teacher read the book to the class. Later when I was in middle school 6th grade we had to do a project in the book. We went deeper into the story. Once you get to understand the situation you have imagery of the whole book in your mind. That's how amazing my experience was with the book "Walk Two Moons".

My Pre Advanced Placement class (or as I like to call it, 1st period) started reading it as a novel study, and it is amazing. The only problem is that WE CAN ONLY READ 2 CHAPTERS A DAY!
