Early books such as this one are often the only comprehensive works available on such a little known technology as Inuit lamps..These works of craftsmanship and utility so necessary for survival in the High Arctic utilised animal fats mainly seal and whale oils could be made to burn cleanly and with good illumination and heat for cooking and warmth.. A worthwhile book to read!!
