This book was written by my Great Great Uncle Walter Sargent. He was a wonderful landscape painter as I have few of his works in my own house. I enjoyed reading this book because it says as much about the history of art pedagogy in the United States as it does about how children conceptually learn to draw. Having been a music educator myself for 20+ years, I really liked to see the evolution of arts education from the early 20th century.
