It is common to think of the Arctic as remote, perched at the farthest reaches of the world—a simple and harmonious, isolated utopia. But the reality, as Janne Flora shows us, is anything but. Janne Flora is a postdoctoral scholar at Aarhus University and holds a PhD in anthropology from the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge.
