It's a fun buddy adventure book and shows some great insight to the inner workings of WindClan. You gotta feel for poor Talltail. He felt smothered by his father's expectations, the Clan's boundaries, the ban on tunneling, and his own anger. Everything was just going wrong for him. Then of course it was hard for Talltail to return to Windclan because of the fear of everybody judging him as a failure for not making it as a rogue, the awkwardness of having to confront his clanmates again after all that time, and the possibility of still feeling trapped there like before. It's no wonder Talltail was having a tantrum/panic attack about having to go back. It's just such a blessing he found such a wise and understanding friend as Jake to give him the proper push. Any Clan cat would have been put to shame and embarrassed after meeting Jake.

This is one of, if not the best book I've read. So emotional... It has a real sense of adventure and change to it. Warriors fans simply must read this book, it is the story of Tallstar and his life before the cat we knew from Into The Wild. Beautiful! Xx

I totally recommend this book it is action-packed. Tallstar is one of my favorite characters and we get to know what firestar and scourges father was like. Jake is One of my favorite characters now 😁😊
