About this eBook

“An engaging, beautifully synthesized page-turner” (Slate). The #1 New York Times bestseller and Time #1 Nonfiction Book of the Year: Hillary Rodham Clinton’s most personal memoir yet, about the 2016 presidential election.

In this “candid and blackly funny” (The New York Times) memoir, Hillary Rodham Clinton reveals what she was thinking and feeling during one of the most controversial and unpredictable presidential elections in history. She takes us inside the intense personal experience of becoming the first woman nominated for president by a major party in an election marked by rage, sexism, exhilarating highs and infuriating lows, stranger-than-fiction twists, Russian interference, and an opponent who broke all the rules.

“At her most emotionally raw” (People), Hillary describes what it was like to run against Donald Trump, the mistakes she made, how she has coped with a shocking and devastating loss, and how she found the strength to pick herself back up afterward. She tells readers what it took to get back on her feet—the rituals, relationships, and reading that got her through, and what the experience has taught her about life. In this “feminist manifesto” (The New York Times), she speaks to the challenges of being a strong woman in the public eye, the criticism over her voice, age, and appearance, and the double standard confronting women in politics.

Offering a “bracing... guide to our political arena” (The Washington Post), What Happened lays out how the 2016 election was marked by an unprecedented assault on our democracy by a foreign adversary. By analyzing the evidence and connecting the dots, Hillary shows just how dangerous the forces are that shaped the outcome, and why Americans need to understand them to protect our values and our democracy in the future.

The election of 2016 was unprecedented and historic. What Happened is the story of that campaign, now with a new epilogue showing how Hillary grappled with many of her worst fears coming true in the Trump Era, while finding new hope in a surge of civic activism, women running for office, and young people marching in the streets.

Hillary, I want you to read my review. I'm only going to say this once: You did NOT have 270+ Electoral Vote relations with these people, Mr. and Mrs. Voter. It's time to grow up, put on your big-girl pantsuit and face reality. What happened was you lost the election. Plain and simple. What happened was you took several critical states for granted and didn't campaign there as much as you should have. Donald Trump kept visiting up to five states each day. And by the way, no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia or any other country has been proven. What happened was people grew sick and tired of your message of sexism, misogyny, racism and intolerance. In addition to your countless lies, cover-ups, failures such as Benghazi, and your mindset that you and Bill get to play by a different set of rules than the rest of us. Bernie may not have cared about your damn e-mails. However, many Americans were troubled by them and turned away from you. By the way, here's a hot tip for you: Insulting half of the electorate by calling them a "basket of deplorables and irredeemables" doesn't help the candidate who makes the comment. It's time for you to take responsibility for your loss, instead of blaming everyone else. I don't need to buy your stupid book, (nor do I intend to), to know "what happened."

Lord have mercy,as soon as I read that she accused the president of starting the birther movement,I had to stop. It is plainly in her emails, discussing whether or not to bring up his birth certificatte when she ran against Obama. That is how it got started. What a liar. She has made a fool of herself writing this book. She is plainly a sociopath that will never accept responsibility for her actions. REminds me of Jodi Arias. It was never her fault. It was the victims fault. It was his past girlfriends fault. Everything that came out of her mouth was a lie, just like Hillary. She is a liar from the pits of hell. I seem to recall her saying;"To not accept the results of an election is a threat to our democacy" Well, look how thing are now. She joined "The resistance" God have mercy on her soul. I pray for our president everyday. I'm so thankful she lost. She would have turned this country into a socialist country. GOVERNMENT CONTROL. I don't want my grandchildren growing up under socialism. Her lying is nothing new. She lost her law liscense ove destroying evidence during the WaterGate investigation. She has pattern of destroying evidence. She lost the trust of a lot of democrats and after the way the democrats in DC have done after the election so many democats have said they will not vote Democrat ever again. She has no one to blame but herself. Her life is full of scandals, lies and thuggery.

You don't need to read the book to know what happened. Don't risk losing brain cells reading this book - the woman is inept, selfish and incredibly conceited. I've listened to the terrible audio recording of this (found my way), and not once did she address the core reason she lost. Instead, she make things up as she goes along and really sounds like she can't really decide What Happened. Well, read the cover. This is one of the first books that answers its own question on its cover. Hilarious. Good bye Clinton. Never show your face again, please.
