Kait Nolan, ‘What I Like About You’: a Rescue my Heart novel. As an ARC reader I received this book for free. And promised an honest review. Here it is. English isn’t my first language. Sorry for errors. Rating: 4,5 stars (of 5). In general: ex Ranger and talented lawyer find love. First a note about two minor typing erors: Loc. 1335 : “ ..... in his blood as he he stretched out ....” could do with one ‘he’ less? Loc. 2304 : “Conversation turned turned to fanatasies.......” one ‘turned’ less? Then about the novel itself. Leading characters: - Sebastian Donelly. He’s an ex Ranger. After leaving the Army a few years ago with a broken spirit he had some jobs which couldn’t hold his interest because he kept feeling useless. But with the help of Logan Maxwell (organic farmer and a friend of a friend) he became a talented ‘horse whisperer’ in Eden’s Ridge, Tenessee saving neglected horses. - Laurel Maxwell. She’s Logan’s intelligent ‘little’ sister. In a few months she will complete her law study in Nashville and she already had a generous offer for a job with a prestigious law firm in that city. But is that what she really wants? Laurel and Sebastian meet as bridesmaid and groomsman at the rehearsal of Logan’s (and Athena’s) wedding. And there’s a lot of mutual attraction. But they have to overcome many hurdles before the HEA. The author, Kait Nolan, specialized in charming, sweet small southern towns romances did it again. Wonderful, credible characters; sweet love scenes; nice descriptions of living on a horse farm surrounded by a beautiful nature and intriguing family relationships make the book an easy to read page turner.
