About this ebook

She shuttered her heart and walked away...
Heading home always stirs up mixed emotions for Laney Calhoun. Twelve years ago she left for graduate school, broken-hearted. She's found professional success, but positive personal relationships have proved elusive. Running into her ex-boyfriend fans flames she thought long extinguished, and causes a renewed interest in love. Not with Kyle, of course. Never again. But as sparks fly and items of clothing disappear, she scrambles to keep her emotions in check.

...Now he has a second chance to get it right.
Kyle Nixon let Laney slip away once. Their chemistry together is undeniable, but steamy sex is not enough to convince her to let him back into her heart. Even if she did trust him again, her medical career is five hundred kilometers away from the hometown that he loves, and the life that he once chose over her.

Come home to Wardham. Come home to love.

What Once Was Perfect is a small town/big city romance between a doctor and a teacher who get a second chance at their first love affair when they are reunited at Christmas. Sexy times occur on both sides of the Canadian and American border, in a one-room school house, a boat and an elevator.

Dr. Complex for leading lady. Thought leading male was to good for her. She had the poor pitiful pearls to my taste. Usually love Z. Yorks work, this one had some hpt scenes which may have been the only thing that got my attention.

I think maybe a bit misclassified. Would at the very least classify this as a "contemporary romance" as the language was a tad crass for me. I even found fifty shades more eloquent. Wanted less love-making (even though they wouldn't call it that) and more love story!!!

I had the biggest smile on my face almost the entire time I listened to this audiobook! Kyle and Laney were a delight to be with as they took their second chance at romance. They quickly realized what had happened previously needed to be that way, and they built upon where they are now in life. Their attraction to each other is undeniable and there HEA was perfect for them!
