Om forfatteren

Author Erwin Wunderlich grew up as a fifth-generation Floridian and continues to write about the unique woods and waters of the state. A former submarine officer, he is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. Erwin also holds a doctorate in education. Erwin is an avid conservationist and dedicated family man. When Cal Went to Juniper Springs is the author’s first children’s book, and the story is based upon a lost fawn he once found. His earlier novel, Salvos on the Backwater, a winner of several literary awards, was also a story set in the Florida outdoors. Erwin’s hope is that the book will inspire families and youth to pay more than fleeting attention to the local natural environment. Such interest and engagement will help prepare the next generation to become active leaders in caring for our outdoor treasures. At the five hundredth anniversary of Florida’s discovery, Erwin’s wish also is that the book will remind readers of one of these magnificent places, Juniper Springs.
