About this eBook

A swoony, small town romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!

He’s a player. She doesn’t want to play. There’s more than desire at stake in this game.

Hannah Gray returns home, grappling with the loss of her parents. The last thing on her mind is romance. Once wild and impulsive, she shut her heart off to love. When she meets rugged playboy Luke Winters, their immediate attraction is overwhelming.

Burned once before, Luke has committed himself to nothing but casual dalliances with women. Rugged, broody and smokin’ hot, he finds no shortage of women happy to oblige. When Hannah comes along, he questions what he might be missing.

Romance is last on her list. Same goes for him. But they didn’t bargain on a desire so hot it nearly singes them.

Luke & Hannah’s story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, hot heroes, smart & sassy heroines, new beginnings, opposites attract, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of swoon, and a broody hero.

*A full-length standalone romance.

Well written. A good book, it is not going to suck you in and leave you oblivious to the outside world, but it is an enjoyable, steamy read. It does touch on difficult subjects, but they are merely outlined to set the scene, so they don't pull the focus of the book in the wrong direction. Hannah and Luke have both been burnt and are wary, which leads to an entertaining dance between them, complete with misunderstandings, interfering families and friends, the gorgeous Jessie and soul searching by both of them, but never fear there is also plenty of fun, laughter, steamy sex and passion. It's a free download, so you really should try it, I enjoyed it enough to buy the second in the series.

This book was hard to read and I actually skipped some of the middle without feeling like I missed anything I didn't care for the writers style. Constantly reminding us of stuff that had already been explained. I also wasn't to excited about the drama with Hannah and Luke over some time apart. Overall probably won't read anything else from the author. Glad this one was free.

The main character in this story is dealing with great loss and changes in her life. Yet this coming of age story is filled with much warmth and happiness. With a 'feels right' HEA ending that left me smiling. Enjoy!
