About this ebook

Five years after a "limited" nuclear war, two survivors journey across America.  They — and you — will discover what is left of our way of life: the depth of the devastation — and the hopes of a new society desperately struggling to be born.

From Edward Kennedy to Playboy magazine, readers have praised Warday as an absorbing, suspenseful novel — and an important book for every American to read.

"A first-rate novel, as real as snapshots of tomorrow. And as scary." — New York Daily News

"Haunting … horrifying … engrossing … an all too believable look at what could be the future." — United Press International

"Disturbingly plausible … its vision of postnuclear chaos exceeds 'The Day After'." — Newsweek

"Imaginative … entertaining reading." — Boston Herald

"Frightening … controversial … a futuristic thriller." — Chicago Tribune

I read this book in the 1980's;but my house burned down in 2013 and I lost all my library. This book was the first time I had heard of EMP, blue my mind and made me aware of the possibilities of nuclear war. We are currently being made aware of human nature with covid 19. Is this pandemic worse than a minor nuclear exchange. I hope I never find out.

An amazing book I was gifted for Xmas in 1983. Hey, Reagan was president, so nuclear war seemed imminent. What gives this book a frightening feel-of-real are the charts, maps, surveys, and documents that outline the war, and the government response. The way the relativly untouched western states seal their borders from the rest of the nation is an early mirror of American xenophobia. The first part of the book is tense and gritty. The last part brought tears to my eyes. This is the very BEST post apocalyptic book EVER written.

This describes in detail what could happen if the Cold war became an active war and both sides were destroyed. It also shows what could happen to the rest of the world. Great for those apocalyptic story lovers!!!
