About this ebook

He’s here to train her horses, and then he’s moving on. She’s keeping her true identity a secret. But their spark complicates both of their plans.

When her mother’s death leaves Charlotte Simpson bereft, she hopes the Robinson clan will accept her as one of their own and help fill the void. But a startling discovery dashes her hopes and leaves her wondering if she will ever know the father she’s always longed for.

Horse trainer Gunner Dawson has experienced profound loss and intends to avoid it. So he lives on the move without forming close bonds or putting down roots. When Charlotte hires him to work with her horses and help expand her ranch, he commits to staying for a few months. But he doesn’t count on getting caught up in Charlotte’s search for her biological father. Or on falling in love—with Riverbend Gap or with Charlotte. This time, he’s not sure if he’ll be able to move on—or if he even wants to.

A cute story: I found this to be a unique and interesting as it focused on a family getting to come to terms with some shocking news and then uniting with forgiveness and love. It explored themes such as family ties, belonging and putting down roots. Even though I was invested in the story and wanted to find out how it would all turn out, I nevertheless didn't find it quite compelling nor impactful as the previous books in the series. I would have liked a stronger Christian message and didn't like some of the irreverent comments Charlotte made, such as "And (listening, God?) she could finally quit her job...". Other than these occasional "prayers" there were no other faith elements and it was tagged as being Christian fiction. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

An enjoyable story, a time of families and catching up with them in this story. Emmie enjoys the bakery, and things change when she and a stepsister inherits a ranch. Charolette hires Gunner for six months to help with the horses. Secrets and love will they be excepted when revealed. Captivating story of changes, with good characters Given ARC by Net Galley Thomas. Nelson
