Humorous Historical Romance Novella
Collection Offers Love and Laughs

Four top historical romance novelists team up in this new collection to offer stories of love and romance with a twist of humor. In Karen Witemeyer's "The Husband Maneuver," Marietta Hawkins decides to grab the reins when the ranch foreman she loves seems to be leaving forever. Regina Jennings offers "Her Dearly Unintended," where friends stranded by a rising river pretend to be newlyweds when a dangerous stranger arrives.

Mary Connealy's "Runaway Bride" finds a Texas ranger getting more than he expected when he rescues a young woman fleeing a dangerous arranged marriage. And Melissa Jagears' "Engaging the Competition" finds a young woman forced to assist the man she's sparred with for so long after an accident leaves him helpless. Each tale is a fun blend of history and romance that will delight readers.

I normally prefer novels to novellas, however when four of your favorite authors (Karen Witemeyer, Regina Jennings, Mary Connealy and Melissa Jagears) get together to write a novella collection, wow, you know you must read it :) Each author has their own humorous style, with spunk, love and surprise. Sometimes you only have time for a quick read, so a novella is just perfect. The Husband Maneuver - by Karen Witemeyer This is almost two novellas in one, I loved the intro into each chapter from Dead-Eye Dan and the Outlaws of Devil’s Canyon. Witemeyer always has a fun style of writing. Marietta Hawkins knows what she wants and is willing to do all she can to get it. When she learns her plans must be pushed up will she be able to find the love she wants from the handsome, Daniel Barrett? Daniel is determined to make his own way and try to ignore the man he was, yet can Marietta see him as who he is or does she only see who she thinks he is? Her Dearly Unintended - by Regina Jennings Katie Ellen is trying to prove herself to her family. When disaster strikes can she trust her childhood friend Josiah Huckabee, even when he once hurt her deeper than he is aware? Katie is a determined, opinionated girl, in which everything has its place and it all needs to be in its place. Josiah Huckabee has his own way of doing things. When Katie needs him, will she allow him to help her anyway he can? Even if they drive each other crazy? I loved the humor, misunderstandings, and the romance. Runaway Bride - by Mary Connealy Carrie Halsey is not sure exactly what she wants, but knows it is not the life her father has planned out for her. When she is forced to runaway, she is not sure exactly what to expect. Big John Conroy is not sure what he has gotten himself into. When on the long trail he has feelings he has never experienced, he is not sure what to do with them. Carrie and John must make many decisions that will not only impact their lives but possibly the people all around them. Connealy always keeps suspense, laughter and love throughout her novels and this novella does not disappoint. Engaging the Competition - by Melissa Jaggers Charlotte Andrews is a determined, tomboy who only wants what is best for her family. When she has finally found the only way to be of any help will Harrison Gray mess up all her plans? Harrison Gray is a structured, well educated teacher. When he is forced to help his childhood friend is there more at stake than he realizes? I loved the banter between Charlotte and Harrison and their near kiss and then their not so romantic first kiss. Will they ever agree on what is worth fighting for and what is not? I loved all four novellas, each author has their own style and humor. If you enjoy good quick reads you will love this book. If you enjoy one of these authors you will like them all. I was given a copy of this book from one of the authors for my honest opinion.

I love the authors that wrote this book. I love their individual works, I just wish that the stories had some thread to connect them all. I enjoyed each adventure and felt it was too short.
