On her way from Sedona, Arizona to Reno, Nevada, to escape her pack, Raven Wood encounters literally a lone wolf. He is Luke Reynolds, the twin of rock star Logan Reynolds, of Logan and the Howlers, both are from Reno. Luke is in Sedona to work as head horse trainer at Valley Farms. The Sedona Caldwell pack is determined to wipe the Reno pack, led by Allen Caldwell, and they have Raven’s sister, Isabelle. Luke thinks Raven’s a ruse to trap him, until she tells what happened to her. Raven was bitten against her will; their Alpha is making unethical decisions, and Luke, ever the gentleman, takes Raven home with him. Raven and Luke’s relationship begins as a very comfortable friendship and I just love how kind he was to Raven, who had had a very difficult life up to then. Luke comes around quickly to trusting her, that she is not the enemy. He understands that Raven is in real danger, he will not let anything happen to her, because her pack Alpha is so ghastly and abusive. And she is his life mate, which he had despaired of ever finding. Raven’s and Luke’s is a very tender romance, very unlike any I had ever seen in a shifter romance. There is a lot of pack politics going on, and Luke and Raven face a very daunting task, as they are falling in love. WOLF MOON is so easy to read, before you know it, you’re halfway through the book! Ms. Kessler does a terrific job at building up the suspense, and when you think the action part is over, bam! Something else happens! While WOLF MOON is book 7 in the Moon series, it can easily be read as a standalone, and I do hope there’s a book 8 in the future! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
